Ravens fan killed in Sandy Hook Elementry School shooting

I was just on the Ravens website when this article caught my eye. 7 year old Joesephine (Joey) Gay was killed in the Sandy Hook School shooting. A huge Ravens fan.

Correction

I just decided city names will be too easy. Instead, let's make it harder. You have to translate the abbreviations of the teams. For example: Den @ BAL ( Denver Broncos @ BALTIMORE RAVENS ). You will know the Ravens' abbreviations because it will be in Purple, and it will be Bold, Italic, and underlined. If you want to see the abbreviations, go to NFL.com and when it opens, there should be a line of abbreviations. Good luck

Guessing game

Everyone, next week I'll only put down the city names, and you guys have to get the team names. You have to comment me in the exact order I put the city names. Give me your best shot.

Every one's saying Packers since Bears QB Jay Cutler is out with an injury, and so is star linebacker Brian Urlacher. #2. Broncos @ Ravens. Well not the entire team, just the quarterback: Peyton Manning. In his entire career, Manning has never lost to Baltimore. Ray Lewis is back for the Ravens, so our Defense is in full swing. I also have more news. You May have heard about the Sandy Hook Elementry school shooting. Well everywhere, NFL stadiums will be having a moment of silence for the 26 that lost their lives. Giants WR, Victor Cruz will be honoring a young fan who died in the shooting. His name was Jack Pinto. He was 6 years old, but anyhow, here is a story I just found. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000111532/article/victor-cruz-to-honor-victim-of-sandy-hook-shooting. The whole Giants team will be wearing S.H.E.S on the back of their helmets. That's all for this week!

BREAKING NEWS!!!

Breaking news!!! The Orioles have drafted 2 time Dick Howser Trophy Winner Mark Nikakis out of Clemson University! This kid can play. He had 33 homers last year, and led the NCAB with a .459 batting average. He stole 29 bases, had 73 RBIs. Mark plays second base and outfield, but he’ll be playing sack 2 for the O’s since we’re so desperate for one. “It’s so exciting to be drafted by the Orioles,” Nikakis said on the draft. “It’s just going to be so great to play with J.J [Hardy] at second. One of my favorite players. And it’s cool to play in the same division as my favorite team as a kid (The Tampa Bay Rays.).”

Baltimore Orioles news by Jeff Seidel.

This is going to be a great season with Mark Nikakis on the Orioles. We’re going to win the World Series this year. And while we are on the  subject of championships, Nikakis led Clemson to three NCAB championships. One in 2008, one in 2010, and one in 2011. Gonna be a great season! GO ORIOLES!

The game every one's talking about this week: Ravens @ Chargers. In last year's meeting, the Chargers crushed the Ravens 34-14, with help from Antwan Barnes (Chargers ROLB) Joe Flacco was sacked 5 times. But this year, the Chargers D has more help from LOLB Jarret Johnson, who was traded from the Ravens to the Chargers in the Summer meetings. I have a link here, well actually two links from baltimoreravens.com and chargers.com. Both news about "Double J" playing his old team. Here is the link from the Ravens website: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Battling-Jarret-Johnson-Will-Be-Really-Weird/ee9518c5-ce3c-46d5-8fee-d8d1e0bf07fa. And from the Chargers website: http://www.chargers.com/news/article-1/Jarret-Johnson-Id-Be-Lying-if-I-Said-I-Didnt-Want-this-One-Badly/6df468c4-3310-49e1-a029-090fe3221e30. The game every one's talking about today: Patriots @ Jets. A killer division matchup. Every time these two teams play, it's usually a bloodbath. I suppose you would like to know the history of the Thanksgiving football game. Well in 1934 the Detroit Lions hosted the first Thanksgiving game against the Chicago Bears. They lost. Then in 1960 the Dallas Cowboys played an annual Thanksgiving game. Then there would be two teams that played on the same day. So happy Thanksgiving!

With the Heat trailing by one, Allen made a 3-pointer from the corner and was fouled by Nuggets guard Corey Brewer. Allen made the free throw to complete the four-point play and put the Heat ahead by three.

Last game(s) of the season

Today for my Clemson team, we had a double header. First we played the Twerps (who we killed 16-7) and then we played Michigan (who killed us 6-2). In the first game I was 1-3 with a single. The Twerps pitchers couldn't throw so we were knocking the ball all over the place. On my last at bat, I had finally figured out these guys' balls would go down a foot before it reached the dish. So I step up in the box, first pitch... boom! Straight to right field! Then I stole all the bases. So when I had gotten back in the dugout, Michigan had finished their game and came up behind our dugout to watch us play. Michigan was wearing pink (October breast cancer awareness month), so I said...

Me: Hey Clemson! I didn't know we were playing a girls team today! Ha! Ha! What's with all the pink, man??
Kid on Michigan: If you don't support breast cancer, you don't like @#$%^&*!
Me (to my teammates): Don't worry! I'll handle this.
(So I go back to my bag and pull out a card from my mom's website.)
Me: Here ya go!
(The kid passes it around to his teammates)

Back to baseball. So our game ends and Michigan comes on. Their pitcher was just like the last one I had faced in the Twerps game. So I stepped up, he fogged'em right by me. Then another one and that was my last at-bat in that league. So the season ended with a strikeout. Then I counted my at-bats for the whole year... I was 4-22. I hope I do better next time. GOOO CLEMSON!

Post season

The post season starts tonight. And Texas will lose. Here is some news I found. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2012_10_05_balmlb_texmlb_1&mode=preview

But I do have some doubts. The Rangers have Hammy, Kinsler, Cruz. There's a good chance we're dead. But we'd better beat them. GOOO ORIOLES!!

Pick up game

Paul's travel team coach, Coach Jim, called the players together to play a pick up game. We were split into two teams. I was on assistant coach Joe's team. Our team won 12-11, or something like that. was 1-3 with a single and two ground outs. The coaches didn't pitch to us. Coach Jim has this pitching machine called "Zooka". Zooka looks like a little cannon without wheels. With legs. Paul was going to a travel team tryout so he didn't get to the game until the 4th inning. And we were both on the same team. Other than that the game was cool.

Torrey's speech

I found a speech Torrey Smith had given in the Raven's locker room. Here it is: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/videos/videos/Watch_Torrey_Smiths_Emotional_Post_Game_Speech/50556621-3af4-4f40-8c1d-02c83c66167b#/videos/videos/2012_1_Winning_Drive_1st_Half_Highlights_vs_PHI/8cf6bdfb-f422-4a56-8ac5-263e07556648

For Tevin

The Ravens won it for Tevin (Torrey Smith's brother).

#1. NFL Network: Patriots V.S. Ravens
#2. CSN: Justin Tucker on his game-winning FG
#3. NFL Network: Belichick fumed after Tucker's FG
#4. Ray Rice 7-yard TD run
#5. Pitta flies over Patriots.
#6. Smith 25-yard TD catch
#7. NFL Network: Smith catches second TD

I know two people who were furious at the call that was made on J.T's FG: My brother, and Patriots coach Bill Belichick. When I showed Paul the highlights this morning, he was like " What?? That totally missed!" He's a Philadelphia Eagles fan and he doesn't like the Ravens. And Bill Belichick was like "that totally missed! You're blind ref!" And there was a Patriots player who threw his helmet at the ref's feet. Torrey Smith caught two touchdowns and both balls are going to be going into the ground with his brother. I found some news that I thought you might like. Here it is http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Torrey-Smith-Shines-Despite-Heavy-Heart/f2c5f8c8-bb62-4cf9-85bd-b870ef7657d. My favorite part in this article is when Torrey tells his mom that he was going to play. And his mom was like:"of course. Tevin would want you to play." Yesterday morning when we got home from church, I went to NFL.com and looked at the latest headlines and saw that Torrey's brother had died I clicked on the article and read. Then I saw this tweet Torrey Smith had sent out. Here it is

"I can't believe my little brother is gone...be thankful for your loved ones and tell them you love them... this is the hardest thing ever" - Torrey Smith

Please pray for Torrey, his family, and Tevin.

GOOO RAVENS!!

I have bad news but I'll put that in another post

Losing to a machine.

Me:Yesterday my Clemson team played the Maryland Terps (more like Twerps). The Twerps had to play Friday night, Saturday morning, and Sunday night. Their pitchers were worn out so they had to use a pitching machine! To make it fair we used it too!

And to help me write this post today, I brought along a friend who has plenty of experience losing to machines, Chewbacca from Star Wars!

Chewie: AAAARRRRGH!!

Me: So in the first inning, I was up to bat first. The pitching machine was supposed to "throw" 98% strikes, 2% balls. All the pitcher had to do was pretend to wind up and place the ball into the pitching machine. So I went 0-3 against a machine.

Chewie: Rrrr. Rrrr.

Me: that's right! The first pitch it "threw" was a little outside but I swung at it anyway and it was to the 2nd baseman who threw it to the 1st baseman, then our next two batters Struck out and flew out. When I went out to start at SS, I kept saying "this is ridiculous! Playing short behind a machine pitcher."

Chewie: RRRRRRRR!

Me: Right again Chewie, I was supposed to pitch in that game, replaced by a machine. Did that happen with you Chewie?

Chewie: ARRRRH!

Me: No, he says he would never let Threepio or Artoo fly the Falcon. So my second turn at bat was the same pitch but it was right to the second baseman and I barely ran. The third time...

Chewie: RRR! RRR! RRRRRR ARRGH!

Me: Yep. 1-2-3 strikes YOUR'RE OUT!! So we before that at bat they decided to play 9 inning and...

Chewie: Rr.

Me: 'Scuse me. What?

Chewie: Rrr Argh!

Me: No, they don't play holo chess.

Chewie: ARGH?!

Me: Yeah. Sorry.

Chewie: AAAARRRRGH!!

Me: Aw, great he just walked out on me because he wanted to know if anyone played holo chess (his favorite game). Well I can finish this story without the walking carpet lol. Don't tell him I said that.

Chewie: AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Me: Ouch. He said he wants to rip my arms off. So we're playing 9 inning instead of 6. One of our pitchers tried putting the ball in the hole were the thing throws the ball but he kept missing, thank God this wasn't in game time. So we lost to a machine just like Chewie losing to R2-D2 in holo chess. That was the reason I asked Chewie to help me with this post. In episode 4, A New Hope, Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi, C-3PO, and R2-D2 have boarded  Millennium Falcon, Han Solo and Chewbacca's ship and Artoo and Chewbacca are playing holo chess and Artoo wins. That must be embarrassing, right Chewie, old buddy?

Chewie: ARRGH!!

Me: Stay tuned. GOO CLEMSON!!

Chewie: AAAAARRRRRGGHHHHHH!!!!

Week 2.

Aright! Week two starts in an hour. Here are the games.

Sundays games

1:00 P.M. games
Kansas City Chiefs @ Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings @ Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans @ Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders @ Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals @ New England Patriots, Tampa Bay Buccaneers@ New York Giants, BALTIMORE RAVENS @ Philadelphia Eagles.
4:00 P.M. games
Dallas Cowboys @ Seattle Seahawks, Washington Redskins @ St. Louis Rams, New York Jets @ Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans @ Sand Diego Chargers,
8:20 Game. Detroit Lions @ San Fransisco 49ers

Monday night Game
Denver Broncos @ Atlanta Falcons.

The Lions/49ers game is going to be a coaches battle. Last year when these teams met, 49ers coach, Jim Harbaugh (brother of Ravens coach John Harbaugh) didn't shake hands with Lions coach Jim Schwartz. And Schwartz had to make a big deal about. He started chasing Harbaugh and both  teams tried to protect their coaches, but Harbaugh didn't shake his hand. Let's hope it goes better this time!

Fall ball season opener

Today my fall ball league kicked-off the season. My team is the Clemson Tigers. Like  In this league, the team names are college names, like Florida Gators. So our first game was against, NC Tar heels (I know. I know. But it's a real name). We won 11-5. I was 1-4 with a single, two strike-outs, and a ground out.  In this league, you play it like you're in the pros, like you can lead off the base, and you can run on a dropped strike 3. B it is pretty cool. Our game is next Saturday. GOOOO CLEMSON!!

Friday, September 14, 2012

No way

I don't believe it, but the Packers won! The final was 23-10. Rodgers got off to a hard start, got sacked a couple times, but the Packers D was unstoppable. There were 4 interceptions for the Packers and I think two touchdowns. I think it was just luck for the Pack-men. Well the Packers sent them Packing. HA HA!

80 WINS AND 2 WALK-OFFS!!

MANNY MACHADO GETS HIS FIRST WALK-OFF HIT!!

#1. Machado win marathon with walk-off in 14th
#2. Chen goes 1/3 innings, striking out 7
#3. Hardy turns a double play in the fifth inning
#4. Machado leaps to grab Jennings' tailing liner
#5. Teagarden swats a double into the gap
#6. Machado talks about walk-off win in extras
#7. MUST C CLIPS (even though it's not): MACHADO WINS IT WITH WALK-OFF SINGLE IN 14TH!!!

When Manny Machado's softly hit fly ball barely found grass under the glove of diving Rays left fielder Matt Joyce on Thursday, it meant a lot to the Orioles in so many ways.

First, it ended a 14-inning marathon and gave the Orioles a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Rays before 25,130 at Camden Yards and completed a sweep of the three-game series. But it also meant the Orioles weren't a losing team any more and put them alone in first place in the American League East until the Yankees defeated the Red Sox on Thursday night to regain a share of the top spot. The win improved the Orioles to 81-62 and ended a streak of 14 straight losing seasons. Baltimore last finished with a winning record when it captured the American League East in 1997. The Orioles have won 13 straight extra-inning games, which extends a franchise record, and are 27-7 in one-run gamesBaltimore Orioles news, by Jeff seidel.

There were Manny highlights on Machado again. If you watch video #6, watch look at Manny and see what he's doing. It's pretty hilarious. The A's will lose tonight. GOO O'S!

Thursday night football.

Tonight the Chicago Bears play the Green Bay Packers in Wisconsin. I'm rooting for the Packers but I know the Bears are going to win. The bears have an awesome defense with Julius Peppers on the line, and Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs in the LB spots. Green Bay on the other hand, has an awesome offense with Aaron Rodgers QB-ing, Cedric Benson running, Gregg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, and Donald Driver receiving. That's like the big story, Packers offense VS. Bears Defense. GOOO PACKERS!!

Night of the Rookies

Last night was night of the Rookies. Manny Machado had a big night, and Nate McLouth hit a walkoff. And both of them got pies.

#1. Machado, McLouth key in O's win in the ninth.
#2. Gonzalez gets out of a bases loaded jam.
#3. Betemit lines an RBI single in the first.
#4. Wieters singles home Mclouth in the first.
#5. Machado does it all in win against Rays.
#6. MUST C CAUGHT: MACHADO FAKES THROW, CATCHES THOMPSON!!!
#7. MUST C CLIPS (even though it's not): MCLOUTH WALKS OFF WITH AN RBI SINGLE!!!

1 more win (1 more loss for the Yankees) and we take first place! GOOOO ORIOLES!!! BEAT THE RAYS!!! GOOOO RED SOX!!! BEAT THE YANKEES!!!

Ravens game

The Ravens beat the Bengals 44-13. Joe Flacco 21-29 (in passing), 299 yards and 2 TDs. Ravens rookie kicker Justin Tucker hit 9 of 9 field goals including PATs. There was 1 interesting fact I made up. Safety Ed Reed picked-off Andy Dalton for a 34 yard return and TD, and Ed is 34. lol. Eagles will lose next Sunday. GOOO RAVENS!!!

Monday, September 10, 2012

Tonight...

the season opener for the Ravens and the Bengals will go on tonight. ESPN Tonight. GOOO RAVENS!!

San Diego Chargers @ Oakland Raiders.

For the Washington Redskins, Robert Griffin III (RG3) Is making his first start as an NFL QB. He is off to a good start with 182 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. Peyton Manning is in his 15th season in the NFL. After 14 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, Manning goes from Colts to Broncos, in Denver. Andrew Luck also makes his first start. So far Luck is having a pretty un-Luck-y day. He has 137 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Poor kid.
That's the scoop. Football season is here.

Ravens VS Lions

Tonight the Ravens play the Detroit Lions. At the same time the O's play the Detroit Tigers

My MLB BFF

Last month, J.J Hardy visited the MLB Fan Cave. He did a video with 2 cave dwellers. Here is the video

http://mlbfancave.mlb.com/fancave/video.jsp#fbid=CKuPUwkrsb4

Our day at the Yard.

Yesterday we went to the Orioles game. It was kids run the bases day. Here is a video.

Mom put all the videos she took in one video.

Um. Scoreboard dude, since when has Adam Jones
pitched? And since when have there been 2 left fielders?
We got a picture with the Eddie Murray statue.
Paul and I got Miguel Gonzalez's autograph
That's cool way he signs his name, Miguel G 50. Kinda sounds like a code
This is the book we got it in

More Manny!

Manny does it again!

#1. Machado, Reynolds help O's rap up Royals
#2. Johnson retires Getz to earn the save
#3. Mclouth robs Escobar with great sliding catch
#4. Markakis blasts a solo homer in the fifth
#5. Reynolds leads Orioles past the Royals.
#6. Machado awarded two-run homer upon reveiw

Whether he likes it or not, Mark Reynolds understands the role he's been put in.
With newcomer Manny Machado seemingly entrenched at third base -- and rightfully so after hitting his third homer in four Major League games on Sunday -- Reynolds has been relegated to splitting first-base duties with Wilson Betemit.
But even after a pair of days on the bench, Reynolds made the most of a starting opportunity, knocking an RBI single in the sixth for the go-ahead run in a 5-3 win over the Royals to give the O's a split of the four-game series at Camden Yards.
"It's what I've got to do," Reynolds said. "It's the situation I'm in. When I'm there, I'll be ready to go."
The win moves the O's into the American League's second Wild Card spot, finishing a stretch of 30 games in 31 days ahead of Monday's off-day.
"We're definitely tired," shortstop J.J. Hardy said. "We're all going to enjoy our off-day, but today was a huge win for us."

WIN!!

A win and 2 homers for Manny!

#1. Machado homers twice to lift Gonzalez to win
#2. O's fan ends up with both of Mahcado's homers
#3. Fan talks about snagging both Machado homers
#4. Gonzalez dominates eight for 4th win.
#5. Quintanilla goes deep for two-run homer
#6. After homering twice, Machado earns first pie.
#7. Machado launches his second homer of the game.
#8. Machado launches his first two career homers.

If reaching 60 wins quicker than any year since 1998 and being well ahead of schedule to snap a streak of 13 consecutive losing seasons isn't enough evidence, Manny Machado is here to drive the point home.
"It's a new era," Machado said. "We haven't won in a long time and this ball club has been winning without me. And hopefully now that I'm up here, I can contribute." If his performances going forward look anything like Friday night's, "contribute" is a monumental understatement. In just his second career game, the Orioles' top position player prospect launched his first two Major League home runs, as the Orioles beat the Royals, 7-1, to even the series at Camden Yards. The win was the O's sixth in their past seven games, ensuring that their place atop the American League Wild Card standings is secure for at least another day."[Manager] Buck [Showalter] brought me up for a reason, and it was to help this team," Machado said. "So, I'm going to do anything I can to help this team and try to make a playoff [game]."Machado -- just 20 years and 35 days old -- became the youngest player in Orioles history to record a multi homer game. Both blasts landed in the exact same spot in the left-field stands, and each came on a hanging breaking pitch from Royals starter Luke Hochevar. In the fifth, Machado belted a hanging slider on the inner half for a solo shot to push the Orioles' lead to 3-1. "It was the best feeling ever," Machado said. "The crowd here loves me, and for them to support me like that, after my first home run, it just felt great."Machado took another hanger from Hochevar -- this one a curve ball over the heart of the plate -- and hit it to the very same fan in the sixth, a three-run blast that all but put the game away as the Orioles took a 7-1 lead. After a little prodding from Adam Jones, Machado stepped out of the dugout for a curtain call, waving to the crowd of 17,277 that was giving him a standing ovation and chanting his name. "I've dreamed about that my whole life," Machado said.
In his first two days, Machado has passed every test, and made quick work on the record books. His first homer marked the youngest by an Orioles player since Hall of Famer Jim Palmer did it as a 19-year-old on May 16, 1965. His second -- which also scored Wilson Betemit and Nate McLouth -- amazingly landed in the same spot: Adam Corder's hands. Corder, 15, is a Millersville, Md., native who currently lives in the United Arab Emirates and caught both of Machado's homers from section 78, row 14 at Camden Yards.
"I was surprised," said Machado, who met with Corder after the game and exchanged some autographed balls and a bat for his first home run ball. "I heard it in the dugout somebody told the officer the same kid caught both balls. I was like: 'What? That's crazy.'"

The Lions will lose next Friday. GOOO RAVENS!!

Thursday, August 9, 2012

It starts now.

The Baltimore Ravens are playing right now against the Atlanta Falcons in a preseason game. So far the Ravens are losing 7-0 but we'll bounce back. We always do.

GOOOO RAVENS!!!

Who's on first.

Paul and I did a comedy routine  for our homeschool talent show called "Who's on first?" by William "Bud" Abbott, & Lou Costello. Mom took a video of the act but it was too quiet, Paul and I are making a new one. I will  try to get the re-make out. In the mean time, you can watch our inspiration below.

Like father, like son.

Yesterday, Steve Johnson (son of Orioles hall of famer Davey Johnson) made his major league debut, 23 years after after Davey Johnson's debut.

# 1. Johnson's first start carries O's to victory!
#2. Sparks fly after Thames collides with gate. (lol on this one)
#3. Hardy grounds an RBI single to left.
#4. Reynolds lifts a solo shot to right-center
#5. Markakis cranks a two-run homer to right.
#6. Wieters drives in five in win over Mariners
#7. Johnson fans nine in first career start.

When Steve Johnson was evaluating his options as a Minor League free agent last winter, the choice was simple. He wanted to remain with Baltimore, spurning offers from several other organizations who could never give Johnson his childhood dream: donning the hometown Orioles' orange.
But even the 24-year-old Johnson couldn't have fantasized a night like Wednesday, a made-for-the-movies type fantasy where fate and family intersected. With dad Dave watching proudly as part of the Camden Yards crowd, Johnson tossed six strong innings to pick up the win in his first Major League start on the 23-year anniversary of his father's first career victory as an Oriole. Johnson's nine strikeouts, celebrated loudly by a crowd of 17,312, set the tone for Baltimore's 9-2 series-sweeping win over the Mariners. "It's something I was thinking about for a long time," said Johnson, who got the celebratory pie to the face from Adam Jones and Robert Andino before sharing a special moment with his father in the tunnel leading up to the clubhouse. "[To] get my first win and have him here. And the way those days worked out, 23 years to the day, it's just special. It's all I can really say about it. It means a lot to me."
Matt Wieters -- fresh off catching Tuesday's 14-inning win -- ensured that the rookie would get some run support. Wieters, who made it clear he wanted to be behind the plate for Johnson's debut, tied a career high with five RBIs as the surging O's improved to nine games over .500 for the first time since June 26.
Johnson's gem helped the Orioles extend a five-game winning streak -- tying their season high -- and kept the club in a three-way tie for the first Wild Card spot and just 4 1/2 games back of the American League East-leading Yankees.

Other exciting news... MANNY MACHADO IS COMING TO BALTIMORE!!!!!!! Manny Machado was an AA player in Bowie for the Baysox. He's had 11 homers this year (these stats are from the Baysox), 13 stolen bases, 26 doubles, and 59 RBI'S. And another thing, HE IS AWESOME!!

No sweep.

Thanks to Kevin Gregg that is. 11-3 with a grand slam by Robinson Canoe. lol.

Wednesday, August 1, 2012

Hilarious!

Bryce Harper goes crazy again!!
#1. MUST C CLIPS: ROLINS RIPS AN INSIDE-THE-PARK HOMER!!!!

1 more game!

1 more game and the Orioles get the sweep!

#1.Orioles' seven-run second, too much for Yanks.
#2. Quintinlla's knock scores a pair of Orioles.
#3. Ford doubles for first MLB hit since 2007.
#4. Betemit rips an RBI double to right field.
#5. Reynolds' ground-rule double scores a run.
#6. Markakis' homer extends O's lead to six.
#7. Davis' slam gives the O's a seven run lead.
Orioles starter Chris Tillman's gusto was tested early as the 24-year-old got knocked around in the first inning, yielding five runs-- including three before recording the first out -- in a 36-pitch frame. But Tillman -- who has been sick for days and on a "Z-Pak" antibiotic -- found a way to keep himself from being knocked out early. Crediting catcher Matt Wieters, who recognized from the outset that Tillman was firing less than his "A-game," the pair switched to a steady diet of offspeed pitches, keeping the Yankees off balance and Tillman in the game for another four scoreless innings.
"That first inning took it out of him," Wieters said of Tillman, who was sent home early on Monday night, hoping to feel better. "It was a stressful and tough first inning to come out of the bullpen and give up a five-spot real quick. That's what's really impressive about him. He's still 24 years old, and he knew if he could keep us in there, we'd have a chance."
Down five runs, Baltimore roared back, putting together its second seven-run inning of the season -- the first since May 5 -- off Yankees starter Ivan Nova, who surrendered a career-high nine earned runs. The second-inning barrage -- all with two outs -- started with Mark Reynolds' RBI ground-rule double, and red-hot No. 9 hitter Omar Quintanilla followed with a two-run single. Leadoff man Nick Markakis, who continues to flourish since taking over top-of-the-order duties, collected the first of his three hits on the night, and after J.J. Hardy walked, Chris Davis delivered the big blow with a grand slam.

Paul's team party.

Last Saturday, Paul had a team party here are pictures and videos.

The cake. CUBS ARE #1!
Here's a better shot.
This is Paul receiving his trophy (My mom is a little incompetent when it comes to taking videos.)

No sweep!

Yesterday was day of the rookies. Wei-Yin-Chen pitched 12 K's, Omar Quintanilla had a homer, and this new guy, Lew Ford can throw people out.

#1. Chen's career best 12 K's  help O's down A's.
#2. Ford cuts down Cespedes stretching a single.
#3. Jones' double puts the O's on the board.
#4. Quintanilla's homer pads the O's lead.
#5. Wieter's 3-run shot puts Orioles up 4-0.
#6. Chen fans 12 A's over 5 2/3 innings of work.

Wei-Yin Chen was the big story for Baltimore on Sunday. Chen set a new record for Taiwanese-born pitchers with 12 strikeouts -- despite pitching only 5 2/3 innings -- as the Orioles rolled to a 6-1 victory over the A's in the finale of a three-game series before 19,698 at Camden Yards.

Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

It seems every player who's been on their team forever is leaving! First it happens with Kevin Youkillis, (after 7 years with the Boston Red Sox, Youkillis goes from Red Sox to White Sox, in Chicago) Jose Reyes, (after 9 years with the New York Mets, Reyes goes from Mets to Marlins, in Miami) Prince Fielder, (after 7 years with the Milwaukee Brewers, Fielder goes from Brewers to Tigers in Detroit) Albert Pujols, (after 11 years with the St. Louis Cardinals, Pujols goes from Cardinals to Angels in Anaheim, CA) C.J. Wilson, (after 7 years with the Texas Rangers, Wilson goes from Rangers to Angels in Anaheim, CA) Jonathan Papelbon. (after 7 years with the Boston Red Sox, Papelbon goes from Red Sox to Phillies in Philadelphia) And this is the one that has surprised the Baseball World. ICHIRO SUZUKI IS NOW A NEW YORK YANKEE, AND JOINS ALL THOSE OTHER JERKS UP THERE!!!! After 11 years with the Seattle Mariners, Ichiro goes from the Mariners to the Yankees! RRRRRRR!! REALLY?!?

32!

I was supposed to put this out yesterday but I said in this post I would ask Dad to measure my throw. 32 yards. Same as my speed and Matt Wieters' jersey.

#3. Jones scores on Davis' forceout.
#4. Thome hits his first O's homer, career No. 610.
#5. Flaherty rips a three-run shot in the third.
#6. Orioles score six runs in the third.

Indians will get killed tonight (even though Tillman is pitching for us) GOOO ORIOLES!!

Playoffs and championship

Paul played in his league playoffs and they also won the championship! In the first game, we won on a walk-off single, the second game we won no big deal and we were the  championship winnas! The last inning of the championship was hilarious, one of our players kept rallying the crowd with, LET'S GO CUBS! And, GIMME A "C"! C! GIMME A "U"! U! GIMME A "B"! B! GIMME AN "S"! S" WHAT DOES THAT SPELL?!? CUBS! and, (trumpet) CHARGE! It was pretty annoying but he was just like a mini Rick Dempsey. Paul played outfield the whole tournament in the outfield but he had a good time. I can't post any pictures cause Mom forgot the camera and used her phone and she's trying upload them on the computer. When they're uploaded, I will post them.
